Another Chapter

Well friends,

Our Zimbabwe trip came and went. I actually had written a blog update about it, but somehow my phone lost it...

To sum it up - it was an experience!
We survived all of the flights with Melva and the many hours enroute. It was wonderful to catch up with old friends and meet my parents new ones. The ultimate highlight of the trip  was Melva getting to spend time with my parents. Between blowing bubbles and taking long morning walks with the grandparents there were lots of precious moments. She warmed up to my dad very quickly after he gave her his rubber bracelet to play with. She even volunteered to give him several kisses.Ultimately they all became best buddies by the end. In fact, when my mom came back for a brief visit this last month, Melva still remembered her.

Another blessing that came from the trip was that Henry and my dad got to spend some quality time working together. Henry took many of the photos of my dad in the album I shared with you. He was also able to gather a lot of information on the water project. Although the first phases of the project are now completed - phase 5 focuses on sustainability. Henry and I are working on a proposal presentation for how this last phase needs to be approached. I hope to share it with you soon.

After our return, a hurricane of events took place.

We spent the first couple weeks recovering from the trip to Zimbabwe and getting Melva back into a good sleep schedule. Then we made our way to a friends wedding in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

As many of you know my Grandma Burger passed away this last month. We were blessed to be able to attend her memorial service and then make a short visit to Wisconsin and Chicago.

Amongst all the recent travel both Henry and Melva got sick several times. I feel God has ultimately protected me through it all because it hasn't been just the three of is traveling on all these trips; we found out back in February that we are pregnant again!

Baby Knight II is due the 9th of November. We have had quite the time finding an Obgyn or midwife that we liked down here which is a completely different story, but we had our first ultrasound yesterday. Our little Muffin wouldn't participate in the gender reveal occasion. Baby Knight stayed all curled up snug as a bug in a rug, legs comfortably curled underneath.

You can see a picture of this modest little one by clicking on "Baby Knight II" at the top of this blog. I hope to continue updating that page as things progress!

Thanks again for all the prayers and support of our trip to visit my parents.
