One Year

Today Melva turns one year. She has been in the world  here a bit longer than that really - only God really knows when he first breathed life into her. It's his secret. But I am so glad he did. Melva has rocked our world ever since.

I am afraid to describe how I see her because I don't want to put her personality into a box. Henry and I love to see how she grows and changes every day. The one thing she does consistently is make us laugh.

One year ago today something else was going on. My dad was answering his call of duty and flying back to Zimbabwe. He has never met Melva face to face.

So, Henry decided that we could go visit my parents. April 2nd marks our departure date for this very adventurous trip - adventurous mostly because we will have dear Melva in Tow!

She is one of the most active 1 year olds I know - so we will be needing lots of prayer as we travel the 16 hours there (the part Henry is dreading), deal with time changes (the part I am dreading) and then hopefully we will find there is nothing to dread and have a great trip back!

As always there is a long list of items to bring to Zimbabwe for others. My father has mentioned recently that the annual camp for local children is in need of the following:

Blue and black pens
$2000

Need Already Met:
Calculators

The Bible Camp, is held in April during term break in which grade 5-7 children bring $2. This is all they can afford. The camp is held at Chironga Secondary School.  The children have Bible lessons, memorize verses, and receive prizes  the last day.  My mothers grade six children, Tatenda and Praise are so excited about going to the annual Bible Camp.  So the monies are for facility rental, food, prizes, photocopying the Bible Study books.
Please pray about this and give what you are led to give...

All of these items must be sent to Henry and I. Since this will be more of a public post, please email or Facebook message me for our address. If needed we can arrange for a money transfer.

Make out checks to our names with a note that says "camp fund"
And we will ensure the money gets to Zimbabwe.

I realize this is short notice, but communication with Zimbabwe dwellers is not often efficient.

The items must make it to us by March 31.

As always. We love you all and miss you terribly. Thanks for loving us.
