A New Turn

Since I last posted, which was a very long time ago I have finnished grad school, gotten married and am currently sitting in a hotel in Brazil.
Seems crazy. I know.

I love being married to Henry. Interestingly enough, I am beginning to understand my relationship with Jesus in a slightly different way because of it. One such way is how I crave to know more about Henry. It catches me off guard sometimes because I realize that I do not crave God in the same way. Which led me to craving God more. . . wanting to know more about him in a deeper way. I do not compare the two relationships, however, my marriage has helped me to understand my relationship with God better...
And I love this, because my relationship with God never stops. It was God who walks with me, and led me down a path to join Henry in a new little adventure...he gave me a traveling buddy of sorts.
So here I am traveling with Henry physically, but my spiritual journey has continued as well.
Many of you have probably wondered why I am in Brazil. That is why. Henry is here on business and I am LUCKY (Living Under Christ's Kindness Yeah! - a saying inspired by my dad) enough to get to go with him.

I took a walk a little earlier and puting together what I have noticed from the last days travels and that walk, here is what I have noticed.

It seems that butterflies are quite popular. I noticed many women in the airports wearing butterfly jewelery and many other things contain that symbol here. If you guys know why, I would be interested in knowing!

While walking in the beach night market, I kept seeing these wierd preserved crabs in what looked like glass beer casks. Am I supposed to drink preserved crab juice?

Brazillians seem to be very happy people. Although I knew this from my Brazilian friends in the past, it was definetly evident here. People are laughing and joking everywhere. If you smile, you generally get a smile back. A very stark contrast to my life in Chicago.
Well I love you guys and hope you are all doing well. May God bless you. And Thank you to all who made our wedding so special. And please forgive my spelling. My spell check is currently in Portuguese!

How in the world did you two ever get those horses to kiss like that? Whoever got that shot for you deserves a special thank you!

Seriously, it is a great joy to have another "H" in the family. Henry is sweet, Haddon's a special treat, but it took another "H" - Heidi, to make our family complete. Mama Knight and I thank the Lord for you.

Much love to you both. Be careful and send that photo to Reader's Digest. It's a winner!

Congratulations on finding God's partner for you so you can have this relationship so well designed by Him. Guess that is why is should be no surprise that you see parallels between your relationship to Henry and to the Beloved Bridegroom. Best to you both! Dr. S.

Thanks for the update. You are such a faithful communicator. Brazil's a pretty big country; wonder what part you are in. We have friends there. Can't believe that it's been a little over a month that you were married. Your post is aptly named "gypsy". I'm sure we'll be getting posts from different parts of the world. Just leave you a quote that I love written by George MacDonald about butterflies. One of my friends who is a photographer gave me one of her prints with a butterfly lighting on a flower with this quote on it. "A butterfly flits like a stray thought of God" What a beautiful thought of God our Father. I think you would enjoy some of his novels translated by Michael Phillips. Living loved, Aunt Cathy
