A Brief Update

I am sitting on the pull-out couch at my Grandma and Grandpa's house surrounded by a golden light coming from various lamps in the room, enjoying being on spring break. My sisters are talking about proper posture and my mother just left after telling us she wished she could be as young as us again.

It has been a low-key day, with lots of laughter and food. Somehow I have managed to get a haircut (yes, I am keeping my hair short!) and some long put-off-tasks completed. The slowness of the day has truly been a blessing after a busy first half of the semester.

Did I mention my semester has been busy? I had expected the classes to be an adjustment after being in Australia. My expectations were correct. I have also been preparing for my upcoming art show which has given me added stress. I am back to living at the Fine Arts building, often only leaving when I am kicked out by campus safety! Although, it has been busy, it has been a very good semester.

After returning from Australia, I knew catching up with friends and finding my "place" at school again, might be difficult. I have been blessed by a wonderful roommate, though, who made sure the girls in my hall knew I was coming. They gave me a wonderful warm welcome. I have enjoyed catching up with old friends, and getting to know the newer ones better. A lot of my graduated friends have come back to visit as well. I have continued on at the church I have attended for the last four years and jumped right back into the ministry there. I have also gotten back into tutoring at the grade school.

So things are going well. . .

As I sit here, surrounded by my family, I am again reminded that life is constantly changing.

As many of you know, my parents have been in California for two months, for meetings. They recently returned and are looking for a house in central Illinois. They have not yet heard from the Zimbabwean government about their work permits. My sister Julie, will graduating from high school soon. Ruth is looking at options for summer jobs. At this moment we are all kind of unsure what this year will bring(but I am pretty sure this is a normal thing…does anyone truly know what will happen, even tomorrow?)

I personally am graduating in May, and looking at Art Therapy Masters Programs. Where I get in, determines where I will be working over the summer.

So life goes on. I am looking forward to what God brings our way!

Thank you all for your prayers, encouragement, and support!

It is greatly needed.
