A Gypsy Reveling in the Now

I am on the road again, but only for a short while. My sister Ruth and I took a short road trip this weekend to visit my parents and my sister Julie. They have found a quaint apartment in Urbana Illinois where they can spend quality time with my Grandparents. The four bedroom apartment comes with a nice kitchen, personal bathrooms, and a swimming pool. It is in a beautiful area as well, which my father showed to me as we took our run this morning. Several deer leaped across our path as the morning mist shone through the tree branches. Every once and a while a bunny would zigzag its way in front of us and then dash into the swampy forest beyond. The run was refreshing.

Running. I have done a lot of running recently. But not the kind I enjoy doing for recreation. The last semester of my senior year has proved to be more busy then I thought. I am tutoring at the local grade school, working at the school's snack shop, on top of trying to keep on top of my psychology and art classes. I have enjoyed most of the work though. There have been some decent breathing times in between it all as well. This last Saturday a pretty day blew through Cedarville, and some of my friends and I had a picnic at a local state park.

Parks. I have spent a lot of times at parks recently as well. I am thoroughly enjoying my water color class at the moment. Recently our class time and assignments are spent outside, observing God's creation and see things from a different perspective. Ahh . . . the life of an artist.

Creating art is not always relaxing, however. This last month I spent most of my free time preparing for my Senior Art Show, which is currently being displayed in Dixon Ministry Center on campus. It went up the ninth of March. It was a wonderful relief to finally put it up, and yet, quite horrifying. My last four years of work, my history, my thoughts and ideas were being displayed to whoever happened to pass by. The opening night was rewarding. I was blessed to have my family come and celebrate with me, and meet the other people who supported me through the last four years. Somehow art can have a way of unifying in that way.

And yet, we are soon to be separated once more. I try not to think about it very often, and revel in the moments I have. These moments are truly beautiful. . .

But plans are still being made. Graduation comea in May. I have been accepted to Adler school of Psychology and hope to begin their Art Therapy program in the fall. In the meantime, I hope to work at Camp Timber-lee as a high adventure leader (this basically means I get to help people climb things all day!). There are a lot of unknowns, when it comes to other plans, but as I have discovered so often in my travels, as long as you keep walking, you will see what is around the bend eventually. God has taken care of me so far, so I am going to keep taking His hand and letting Him lead.

My parents also have a lot of unknowns ahead of them. They have yet to hear back from the Zimbabwean government about their work permits. This is a huge prayer request!

So Basically? This Gypsy is still on the move.

Thank you for all of your prayer, friendship and support. And for reading my blog! Sorry it is such a long read this time. Oh and I've included some pictures from my art show, and recent travels

You are quite a sharp young lady, learning from God as you observe the events of your life, and developing the gifts God has given you. I admire your faith. From an admirer.
