A spicy aroma reaches my nose as I walk down a little brick path, through a little stone tunnel, through a black gate, past white walls covered in art, on a hardwood floor, to carpet and onto a comfy trundle bed. There isn't much light streaming from the one window, but the fairy lights give off a happy glow. I am in my apartment. My flat-mate and I have been moved in for about two weeks (well, all but our studio is set up) and I think we are finally adjusting to our new surroundings. We are on the garden floor, and not much light comes here, but it is cozy and happy.
I met my flat-mate, Sangeetha, at the interview for Adler. She and I were being interviewed the same day for the same thing. Somehow, we were able to stay in touch and decided to live together. It has worked out really well. I am afraid that I benefit more than she does from the relationship. She is from India and cooks the most amazing food! We entertain people for dinner many evenings. I make the popcorn, and sometimes the dessert, while makes the meal. It works out pretty well though.
School has finally started for both of us. We probably won't be doing as much entertaining after this, but I am ready to hit the books. The great thing about my program, however, is that I also get to do art in every class. Did I say I love what I do?
When I started writing this letter, I was not sure what to tell you. So much has happened and there is not enough time or room to write about it. However, I do want to conclude, by reflecting on how much I have been blessed by so many of you. Most of my apartment has been furnished because of your help. The food I eat and the places I am able to go are also because of what God has done through you. So thank you!
I am praying that God blesses you more than either of us could imagine, and more importantly that He would continue to work in you and through you to bless others.
Please continue to pray for me.
- Pray that I would continue to adjust to my surroundings and class work well
- Pray that I find a job
- Pray that I would seek and find God's wisdom in all that I do
Thank you!
May God's Shalom (peace) engulf you.
