This semester I am taking a multi-cultural class and I thought I would share some of the things I have learned so far...

• A majority of poor children live in rural areas
• Between 1995 and 2001 the % of students reporting they had been a victim of a violent crime in school increased from 18% - 30%
• 75% of toxic waste dumps that do not comply with enviromental protection agency regulations are found in predominately African American and Latino Communities
• Race most closely predicts how high someone will score on the SAT
• A national study of college students states that only 5% of the 27.5% students who were raped are actually reported to the police.
• The U.S millitary budget is by far the highest of any country in the world. By 2003 the U.S millitary was roughly equal to that of the next 20 countries
